The following study focuses on the creation of a Royal Factory of Fine China and Porcelain in Alcora by Buenaventura Pedro Abarca, the 9th Count of Aranda, which determined the future of Valencian ceramics.
This article presents a brief study on the operation of the most important manufacturers of chinaware and porcelain during the eighteenth century in Europe, and then focuses on analysing Alcora's Royal Factory. The paper also reviews the erudite nature of both the 9th Count of Aranda and his son, Pedro Pablo, the 10th Count of Aranda, and how their advanced ideas inspired Alcora-style decoration.
