Mujer, solidaridad y cohesión social en el periodo previo a la revolución independentista.

Liliana Mendoza Pontiffe

This article inquires into the role that women played in the definition of relationships of familiar solidarity -which also included other members of society- and how such relationships could have contributed to colonial society cohesion, an essential aspecto of castellana administration. Those relationships of solidarity would appear to have remained underlying and therefore survived the independence rioplatense crisis, thus contribuing to the reorganization of society. The interest in reviewing this subject results from this fact as it could be relevant to understand, through the study of social networks, both the political and administrative organization that gave rise to a new independent state.
