Relacions en construcció: En homenatge a François Dépelteau

En aquest article, en què es reflecteix el doble interès de François Dépelteau, reuneixo els temes de «relacionalitat» i «procés». S’ha sostingut que el concepte de relacions és fonamental per a la sociologia (i, a fortiori, per a la sociologia relacional), i tracto alguns dels problemes relacionats amb el concepte. En aquest context, proposo una concepció processual. Sostinc que una relació social és l’«estat actual» en la història de la interacció entre dos actors i, per tant, sempre és «un procés». No obstant això, les relacions no existeixen de manera aïllada. Es concentren en xarxes complexes, que al seu torn estan sempre «en construcció». En les últimes seccions de l’article, es parla d’aquestes xarxes i dels mecanismes que les porten a evolucionar en el temps.

Nick Crossley, Universitat de Manchester

Professor del Departament de Sociologia de la Universitat de Manchester i cofundador i codirector del Mitchell Centre for Social Network Analysis. Ha publicat sobre una gran varietat de temes, però, sobretot, en els últims anys, sobre música, xarxes socials i sociologia relacional. El 2011 va publicar a l’editorial Routledge Towards Relational Sociology [Cap a la sociologia relacional], un llibre sobre sociologia relacional. El seu pròxim llibre té un enfocament relacional de la sociologia musical (Connecting Sounds: the Social Life of Music [Connectant sons: la vida social de la música], Manchester University Press, 2020).
