The current article focuses on an event which took place on 21st October 1957: Malke Abraham’s murder. She was a popular Jewish prostitute from S. M. de Tucumán (Argentina) who donated her fortune to the Jewish school in exchange for her grave in the Jewish local cemetery and, consequently, shaped an episode which constituted a paradigmatic case due to the impact it had in the national and local community so much so that it continues being borne in mind at present. Thus, we will take apart the discursive mechanisms which are revealed in the legal file in which, in spite of the proper juxtaposition of that text type, it is possible to identify (specially in the statements) a global and collective strategy that divides the discursive scene in a sharp and Manichean way by opposing, on the one hand, the virtues of the witnesses and, on the other, the defects of the victim, probably because the mere act of statement taking is the concrete field in which institutional and personal aspects are interacting.
