The author presents the fi gure and the thinking of friar John Duns Scotus (†1308). He emphasizes on his posterity, particularly in the ancient kingdoms of the Crown of Aragon. The author considers the studies carried out by the Capuchins’ Martí de Barcelona, Ambròs de Saldes and Basili de Rubí. The author also presents the thinking of John Duns Scotus in Catalonia during the modern era when “Doctor subtilis” aroused a lot of interest, especially during the Immaculist controversy.
