In 1915, Ricard Giralt i Casadesús (1884-1970) obtained the post of municipal architect of Figueres. This article explores the perspective of the Noucentisme movement through an analysis of the architect's professional career and especially of his urban and social thought. The movement of Noucentisme originates in the historical period of the early twentieth century, as an aesthetic language and a programof political intervention, in relation to the Commonwealth (Mancomunitat) of Catalonia now a hundred years ago. The present study proposes a transversal understanding of the architect and, by extension, a new view of the Noucentisme movement which exceeds the period 1914-1924 of the Commonwealth and offers new perspectives towards the following historical periods, until the end of the Franco regime.

Based on the study of his personal archive by one of his daughters, this article talks about the life and academic and professional career of Miquel Golobardes i Vila from Peralada, the first Ph.D. in history in the county, who also worked as archivist at the Archive-Library of the Peralada Palace and professor at various academic levels. It seeks to contribute to the recovery of the historical memory of all those who have researched subjects related to the Empordà region during the long post-war period. After 1943,Miquel Golobardes started a new chapter in his life, as a teacher (at first at the Ramon Muntaner Institute in Figueres) and as a historian of different aspects in his native region, the Empordà and Northern Catalonia, in ancient and medieval times.

Josep Calzada (Sant Feliu de Guíxols 1913-Girona 1990) was a singular ecclesiastic. He was vicar and rector of a village, teacher at the Seminary and canon of the cathedral. He expanded his studies in Salamanca and revealed himself as a remarkable teacher of Thomist theology. The new mindset of the Church after the Second Vatican Council truncated his path. He took refuge teaching at an Institute for secondary education and then took a post at the Provincial Council working with historic and art heritage. This allowed him to survive until he fell into depression.
