The Special Visiting Researcher Scholarship of the Science without Borders Program for network theory A Bolsa Pesquisador Visitante Especial do Programa Ciência sem Fronteiras pela teoria de redes Saenger, Emília Carneiro Fontoura Teixeira, Maria do Rocio This article examines the Special Visitor Researcher (PVE) fellowship granted by the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) by the Science without Borders Program (CsF) considering the Network Theory. The granted fellowships were identified and considered as projects of cooperative research. The relations established among institutions were considered as a network.. More than 800 institutions were analyzed. The article concludes that the resulting network is little dense, characterized by bilateral relations and highlighting USP, UFRJ and Fiocruz, in Brazil, and University of Coimbra, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, University of Minho, University of Aveiros and University of California, abroad, as the most influential institutes in the network. It was observed that the network reinforced the Brazilian technological and scientific international cooperation with potential for formation of new connections within it. Este artigo examina a bolsa Pesquisador Visitante Especial (PVE) do Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq), concedida pelo Programa Ciência sem Fronteiras (CsF), considerando a Teoria de Redes. As bolsas concedidas foram identificadas e consideradas como projetos de pesquisa cooperativa. As relações estabelecidas entre as instituições envolvidas foram consideradas como uma rede de instituições. Analisou-se as interações de mais de 800 instituições. Conclui-se que a rede formada é pouco densa, caracterizada por relações bilaterais, com destaque para USP, UFRJ e Fiocruz no Brasil e Universidade de Coimbra, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas, a Universidade do Minho, a Universidade de Aveiro e a University of California, no exterior, como as instituições mais influentes na rede. Observou-se que houve o fortalecimento da cooperação internacional em ciência e tecnologia no país, com potencial de formação de novas relações dentro da rede.
