The present transformation of the democratic system and the growing importance of technoscience in economy and in the media, particularly in the field of bio-medicine, show a difficult context, with unprecedented risks and opportunities. The present article tries to draw a general landscape analysing some specific aspects such as the risks associated to biotechnology, including the new reproductive technologies, transplants and regenerative medicine, as well as ethical problems associated.
