Nietzsche: Poesía y verdad

This article examines the relationship between poetry and truth in Nietzsche’s thought, and points out the variations in the different periods and the link that connects them. The divergence between poetry and truth is a central aspect, of Nietzsche’s thought. The conceptions of language and truth developed by the young Nietzsche are built around this divergence, as is his apparently contrary critical distance from art in the second period. The analysis of certain parts of Thus spoke Zarathustra shows how Nietzsche rethinks the first conceptions, while removing any metaphysical and romantic assumptions they were based on. In this fashion, art regains its essential role, as is reflected in Nietzsche’s later ideas of classicism and great style.
