Resum

A reconsideration of the history of the Monastery of Ripoll’s restoration, during XIX century. The technical discussion about the different projects for the restoration of this important Catalan monument is connected with the local reception of the aesthetic tendencies in Europe, like Viollet- le -Duc, Ruskin, or William Morris. At the same time, there were different religious and political implications behind the various architectural options.
